Hey, I'm Meredith Frye

As a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and military spouse, I am Meredith—a sometimes potty-mouthed, tequila-loving, and deeply passionate individual. The core of my world is my family: my husband John, and our two sons, Christopher and Taylor, who are the absolute joys of my life. My love for photography began at the tender age of 8, when I received my first camera. This passion has only grown, allowing me to capture and cherish life’s fleeting moments.

Photography is more than a hobby for me; it’s a way of connecting with people, of seeing the world’s inherent beauty, and of bringing light and hope into the lives of others. It offers a unique space where I can creatively express myself and find beauty in both people and my surroundings. Having grown up in a challenging environment, I’ve become acutely aware of the importance of seeking out light, beauty, and love in our daily lives.

My art is deeply inspired by people, music, my hometown, and the beautiful state of Kentucky. From middle school onwards, I was rarely seen without a camera in hand, always ready to capture every moment. My friends knew me as the one who wouldn’t miss a thing, driven by a deep sense of nostalgia and a soulful need to hold onto memories. Photography empowers me to express something deeply rooted in my soul, giving me the courage to share my perspective with the world.

In this journey, my goal is to capture those irreplaceable moments that seem to slip away all too quickly, and to give them back to you. To me, there is nothing more precious than preserving the memories of our families, friends, and loved ones while we have the chance. My hope is to bring a piece of this beauty and connection into your life through my lens.

The Moments We Remember for a Lifetime

My Creative STyle

At the heart of my photography lies a blend of inspiration drawn from music, the rich landscapes of my beloved Kentucky, and a deep appreciation for the vintage and nostalgic. My journey into photography was shaped significantly by a desire to preserve the brighter moments of an otherwise challenging childhood. This longing to capture joy has stayed with me, guiding my lens towards moments that echo the warmth and resilience found in everyday life.

Memories of tender moments spent in my grandmother’s garden, learning the art of cooking and sewing, have left an indelible mark on my creative vision. These experiences, coupled with the early gift of a camera, ignited a passion within me to document life’s fleeting instances. My commitment to photography deepened with the birth of my children, leading me to chronicle their lives meticulously, ensuring no precious moment slipped by unrecorded.

Photography, to me, is more than just a profession—it’s a lifeline. It’s an extension of my identity, shaping my interaction with the world around me. If I go too long without capturing the world through my lens, I find myself feeling lost, yearning to return to the act of creation.

At its core, my work is about connection—forging a bond between the subject and their broader community. Through my photography, I aim to tell stories that resonate, revealing the shared experiences that unite us. In capturing these stories, I hope to foster a sense of belonging, reminding us that despite our individual struggles, we are never truly alone.

My approach is deeply personal, rooted in a belief that everyone’s story deserves to be told. By highlighting our common humanity, my goal is to not only document the world as it is but to also inspire a sense of unity and collective purpose. These are the influences that shape my work, driving me to capture the beauty of the human spirit, one photograph at a time.
